As our logo states – we bring people and projects together. FreelanceSOS offers both project owners and freelancers from around the world the chance to work together on a common project goal.
How is FreelanceSOS different from other freelance websites?
Whereas other freelancer sites have complicated membership plans and commission structures, we here at FreelanceSOS want to take the hassle out of your day by making things as easy as possible with a flat fee of just $10 USD per month for a Freelancer subscription. There is no charge to list projects with us as a Project Owner.

Is there a time limit to leave feedback?
No, but its best to leave your feedback as soon as the project has been completed so you don’t forget! Feedback ratings help your fellow Freelancers or Project Owners rate you for future projects, and a good rating will help you gain more attention than a user with no feedback posted.
Do you have an Escrow service?
FreelanceSOS.com does not currently have an Escrow service of our own, however we do advise our users to operate through one for their own piece of mind. We recommend Escrow.com, but there are other online escrow sites available should you wish to 'shop around'.
How do I contact a Freelancer I am interested in hiring?
Once you have selected the freelancer you want to hire, you will be sent a confirmation email with the freelancers contact details.
How much will it cost me to use FreelanceSOS?
Absolutely nothing! Project Owners can post their projects on our site for free.
How do I modify my profile?
Once you have logged in, simply click on the ‘Edit My Profile’ link.

How do I post a project?
Firstly you need to log in. (If you don’t have a log in id already you will need to register first). Then simply click on the ‘Create New Project’ link within the Tools bar on the right hand side. If we do not already have Project Owner details from you, you will be asked to filling in a few fields before you can post your project.
How do I modify my project?
Once you have logged on, then click on the link ‘Projects I’ve Made’. Select the ‘Edit’ link on the project you wish to modify.
How do I invite Freelancer to bid on my project?
Click on the Freelancer tab, and scroll through the list of available Freelancers. Once you find a Freelancer you like, click on the 'Invite this Freelancer to bid on your project'. An email will be sent to the Freelancer with details of your project, inviting them to bid.
How do I add an attachment to my project?
Once you have filled in your project details on screen 1 of ‘Create a New Project’, you will be taken to another screen where you can attach additional documents to your project.
How do I extend my project’s bidding phase?
Once you have logged on, then click on the link ‘Projects I’ve Created’. Select the ‘Edit’ link on the project you wish to modify. Then amend the date ranges as you require.
How do I make an announcement to my project’s bidders?
Select your project, then simply click on the ‘Add a Comment’ button.
How do I remove silly bids, or award my project to the winning bidder?
Once you have logged in, click on the link ‘Projects I’ve Created’. Select the project you want to award to a bidder (if you have more than one). The bids made on your project will display. Remove any bids that are unrealistic by clicking on the link ‘Remove Bid’ (the unsuccessful bidder will be emailed). When you are ready to award the project to a successful bidder, simply click the ‘Choose Winner’ link. The successful bidder will be sent an email informing him/her that they have won the project, and will be given your contact details. You will immediately be sent an email with their contact details as well.
I’ve awarded my project – what happens next?
You will receive an email confirming that you have awarded the project to a Freelancer, which also contains the contact details of the Freelancer you have chosen. The winning Freelancer is also sent an email with your contact details.
How do I pay the Freelancer that has accepted my project?
Payment (and delivery of Services) is decided between yourself and the Freelancer during the bidding process or once you have been awarded the contract. FreelanceSOS does not play a part in the payment of any projects posted on our site. We are an introduction service only. FreelanceSOS.com does not currently have an Escrow service of our own, however we do advise our users to operate through one for their own piece of mind. We recommend Escrow.com, but there are other online escrow sites available should you wish to 'shop around'.
How do I review a Freelancer?

Why should I post feedback?
Leaving feedback helps other members properly evaluate each other when considering to engage in a project. When giving feedback, consider the impact that your comments and rating will have on the reputation of the Freelancer: we can only ask that you be fair and objective.
How do I subscribe to FreelanceSOS.com?
Click on the 'Register' Tab and fill in your login details. In the screen that follows, click on the 'Freelancer' button and fill in your Freelance profile details and continue to the Paypal screen. Fill in your PayPal payment method and complete. Once this is complete you will be taken back to the FreelanceSOS.com site where your profile will then be viewable to all users, and you can begin to bid on projects!
How much does it cost to bid on a project?
It costs nothing to actually bid on a project. All that is required is that you have subscribed to our website (for only $10USD per month). Once a subscribed member you can bid for as many projects as you want - there is no limit to the amount of projects you can bid on.
How do buyers contact me?
Whilst the bidding process is underway, contact between the Project Owner and the bidders is all done via the comments section attached to the project. FreelanceSOS does not allow the exchanging of contact details via this process. This keeps the bidding process fairer for all. If you are awarded the project, then the contact details of the Project Owner will be released to you.
How do I cancel my account?
Firstly login with your username and password. Then click on the 'Edit My Profile' Link. From there select the 'Remove My Freelancer Information' link on the right hand side of the screen. Click on the unsubscribe link to connect to PayPal in order to cancel your payment through Paypal. Once your payment has been cancelled through Paypal you will not be able to bid on any projects, or be awarded a current project that you may have bid on (and that had not been awarded to any Freelancer at the time of your account cancellation). You can still create new projects as a Project Owner if you wish as this is classed as a non-financial transaction.
Why is my account temporarily suspended?
This may have occurred because there has been a problem receiving your monthly subscription payment, or that complaints have been made about your work on a previous project. In all instances we will contact you in the first instance to discuss the matter and get resolution as quickly as possible for both you and ourselves.
What category should I pick when I sign up?
Pick the category that you have your strongest skills on. Project Owners can browse through the categories of Freelancers and invite one to bid on your project, so you want to appear in the category that shows your strongest skillset. The category you select does not prevent you from bidding on projects that fall within other categories, all it does is decide what category you and your company will be displayed under within the Freelancers area.
When does my current membership period end?
Your monthly subscription starts from the day of your initial signup with us, and the $10USD is charged monthly from that date. If you selected the yearly subscription option when you first signed up then your membership runs for one calendar year from the initial sign up date.

How much commission do I have to pay FreelanceSOS when I am awarded a project?
Absolutely nothing. FreelanceSOS does not take any commissions on any of the projects posted on the site. All you pay is just $10USD per month!
Can I cancel my monthly payment at any time?
Yes. Upon cancelling your subscription payment with Paypal, your ability to bid on projects (or be awarded a current project that you have bid on) is recinded immediately.
How do I modify the contact fields that are displayed on my profile?
Once you have logged in, simply click on the ‘Edit My Profile’ link and update the fields as required.
How do I modify my membership payment method?
You will need to log into your Paypal account and modify it through them, as we do not physically handle the payment processing side of our website. All our payments are handled offsite by Paypal. Once you are in the project screen for the specific project you want to question, click on the ‘Add Comment’ button and add a comment for the Project Owner.
How do I submit my bid for a project?
Click on the ‘Submit Bid’ button and fill in the required fields that will then display.
How do I modify my bid?
If you wish to bid a higher amount than you previously bid then you will need to contact us at: info@freelancesos.com with your login details, details of the project you bid on and the amount you would like to change your bid to. We can then amend your bid for you. If you wish to enter a lower bid than previous, you can do this by submitting another bid for a lower amount, within the project area.
How do I discuss the details of my bid with the Project Owner?
You can do this by either adding ‘Bid Comments’ to your bid, or sending a general query via the ‘Comment’s section within the project details before placing your bid.
How do I add an attachment to my bid?
Firstly click on the project you wish to bid on. Then click on the ‘Bid on this project’ link. Click on the ‘Choose File’ button to attach a document to your bid.

The Project Owner may list their business terms when posting the Project within any supporting documentation they attach to their original Project posting.
How do I communicate with the Project Owner once I have been awarded the project?

If feedback has been posted that you are unhappy about, you can contact us and we will discuss the matter with the Project Owner involved to see whether the feedback is to be amended. Please note that any feedback that contains derogatory or defamatory language will be removed by the administrator.
How do I recover a lost password or login name?
For lost passwords, enter your login name in the Log In panel on the home page, and then click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link. An email with your password will be sent to the email address you gave when you first registered with us
For forgotten usernames, you will need to email us at: info@freelancesos.com with your name and address details. We will reply as soon as we can with your username.
I am not receiving any emails from FreelanceSOS.com. What should I do?
Contact us at: info@freelancesos.com and we will look into the matter immediately and email you back the current email address we have registered for you in case there were any errors during your registration.
