FreelanceSOS is a community portal that bring together Freelancers and Project Owners in a commission free environment.  First established in 2007 when company founder Joanne Sale, an IT professional with over 15 years experience, began searching for Freelance work on the internet.  Joanne noticed that there was a gap in the market for a freelance project site that was simple to use and cost-effective.

“So many freelancer sites I visited had such a variety of pricing plans and commission structures that I found it confusing to work out how much it would cost to both join, and win a project.  Also the range of services these sites offered were so vast, that I found it hard to focus on what I was there for – to find freelance work”  

The concept of FreelanceSOS is to offer a flat fee, no commission marketplace for Freelancers to easily find exciting and available projects, as well as an easy to use facility for Project Owners to post their projects for free.  Joanne runs FreelanceSOS with her husband Phil, a Sales Manager with over 20 years Sales experience, from their base in Wellington, New Zealand.
